World disability day organized Bijbehara in Anantnag

Srinagar, December 04 (Scoop News)-In order to commemorate the International Day for persons with disabilities 2020, a mega event was organised at Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Bijbehara - a school for children with disabilities in south kashmir. Shree Atul Kumar Goel Deputy Inspector General South Kashmir Range was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Ms, Rafia Hassan Khaki, Secretary Legal Service authority Anantnag, Mr Abdul Rabb Shaad Chief Education officer Anantnag Ms Shaheena Nida President Municipal Committee Bijbehara, Mr. Tariq Bashir Khan and Sammiya Hassan were guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Samiya Hassan said that there are numerous role models in Disability Sector which have created path for the development of persons with disabilities.
Mr Tariq Bashir Khan Assistant professor, Department of History, Government Degree College Utrusoo said the technology has changed the future of persons with disabilities and all families possessing the children with disabilities should accept their family members with disabilities and connect them with technology.
Talking on the occasion Ms Shaheena Nida Said that persons with disabilities have created history throughout the World by performing best in the Society. We need to integrate with the disability sector and formulate disable friendly policies for persons with disabilities, Nida added.
Ms Rafia Hassan Khaki Secretary legal services authority said that persons with disabilities should never give up but actively participate in all activities. I underwent the interview of Dr Anam who despite being a spinal cord injured has been rendering her services as psychiatrist. Dr Anam has been pursuing research and has accepted physical disability as her overall ability, Thus all the persons with disabilities should follow path of development and empowerment, Rafia Khaaki added.
In his presidential speech Shree Atul Kumar Goel Deputy Inspector general South Kashmir range Atul Kumar Goel said, Humanity Welfare organisation Helpline has been working tirelessly for the empowerment of persons with disabilities. It popularity is rich and it always takes the administration, security agencies and stakeholders on board to empower persons with disabilities. POlice Department honours those agencies who work honestly like HWOHL and we will always work with these organisations for the upliftment of underprivileged, Goel added.
Welcoming the guests and explaining the aims and objectives of the celebration of world Disability Day, Javed AHmad Tak Founder of Humanity Welfare Organisation HElpline (NGO) and Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education said that World Disability Day has been designed by United Nations in 1992. under a resolution 47/3. Every year a theme has been created and this year the theme was Building Back Better - An inclusive, Accessible and Sustainable post COVID 19 world. As COVID situation was so worst and completely odd for persons with disabilities , there was disconnection of education and other therapies, so a big gap has been created which needs to be filled in coming year. Every year in December the review of programmes implemented for persons with disabilities are created. After that new goals are fixed in order to empower the persons with disabilities and that are worked upon in the new year. Thus the celebrations are made on 3rd December what has been already done.
on the occasion food kits, sewing machine and hot water bottles were distributed among families possessing persons with disabilities under mission Wushnaire through KASHMIR WELFARE TRUST Srinagar.
A number of capacity shows of children with disabilities were showcased in the programme that surprised the participants in the programme.
A number of media channels were awarded on the occasion who highlighted the issues of persons with disabilities from time to time.

A signatory campaign was organised on occasion for pledging that everyone of us will safeguard Rights of persons with disabilities, in which popularity signatory was Director social welfare Department Bashir Ahmad Dar
In the valedictory session of programme Director social welfare Department Kashmir Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar gave a heart warming speech. He said that Social welfare Department has been committed to ensure overall development of persons with disabilities. The department of Social Welfare has kept all doors open for the organisations like Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline whenever they need any time of support. we will be happy to work with these organisations that work honestly on ground for the empowerment of underprivileged, Dar added.
Mr Shujahat farhan presented a detailed report of activities of Childline Anantnag, Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education Bijbehara, Tata Relief Committee programme for livelihood of disable persons and UNICEF project
on the occassion Best disable student and teacher awards were also given, Malik farzana showkat a student with Blindness from Khee Jogipora Kulgam, A deaf and Dumb student from Braw Bandina village of Pulwama and Sheeba Khursheeed sfi faced mental disability from Anantnag were awarded. Ms saima Bashir a post Graduate Teacher in Human development subject was awarded best General line teacher award who according jury has been working selflessly for the education and overall development of persons with disabilities.
Humanity welfare Helpline, Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive education, Childline Anantnag, Team UNICEF presented special gifts to Chairman Humanity Welfare organisation Helpline Mr Javed Ahmad Tak for being Awarded Padma Shree Award on 26 january 2020
