| Final of women’s cricket tournament organised by Anantnag Police played at GDC, Anantnag | | DGP J&K attends presentation ceremony |
Srinagar, September 20 (Scoop News)-The final of the women’s cricket tournament, organised by Anantnag police was played between Kulgam and Anantnag at GDC, Anantnag today. After a nail-biting contest, Anantnag team emerged victorious. To witness the final, DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh accompanied by IG Kashmir, Shri Vijay Kumar IPS, DIG SKR Shri Atul Goel IPS and DC Anantnag visited Anantnag and after watching the final match, graced the presentation ceremony. Apart from distributing cash prizes to the Women of the Series and Woman of the match, the DGP presented trophies to the winner and runner up teams.
After the culmination of the presentation ceremony, while interacting with the media personnel, the DGP expressed immense happiness with the sports activities being conducted in the district. He promised that many more such tournaments would be organised in the future also and JKP would make all the efforts it can, in encouraging the sports talent of the District and the UT.
On the occasion SSP Anantnag, Shri Sandeep Chaudhary thanked the DGP for encouraging the youth of the district and said that this gesture would go a long way in nurturing a culture of sports in the district.
