| Srinagar Police arrests 06 gamblers; Stake money seized | |
Srinagar, September 19 (Scoop News)-Acting tough against social crimes, Srinagar police have arrested 06 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from the gamblers.
A police party from Police Station Karanagar raided a gambling site at Zampa Kadal near Pump Shed following an input about gambling activities and apprehended six gamblers. They have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Shah resident of Batshah Mohalla Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Bhat resident of Wantpora Malpora, Aijaz Ahmad Khan resident of Sazgari Pora Srinagar, Rastum Khan resident of Waniyar Noorbagh, Mohd Muzaffar Beigh and Mehraj din Najar both residents of Saidpora Srinagar.
Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹46,790/- from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Karanagar where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 57/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Karanagar and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
