| Bandipora Police arrests 04 gamblers; Stake money seized | |
Srinagar, September 18 (Scoop News)- Acting tough against social crimes, Bandipora police have arrested 04 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from the gamblers.
A police party from Police Post Ajas raided a gambling site at Saderkoot Payeen Ajas following an input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers. They have been identified as Abdul Majeed Dar, Ali Mohmad Dar both residents of SK Payeen, Mohmad Afzal Rather resident of SK Bala and Bilal Ahmad Ganie resident of Dudwan Ajas.
Officers have seized playing cards and stake money of ₹6,250/- from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Sumbal where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
