| DM launches free ration distribution drive in Anantnag | | Anantnag, March 28 (Scoop News)-District Magistrate Anantnag, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Dar today launched drive for distribution of free ration to the migrant labour class presently putting up in Anantnag district in sync with the government directions and provisions of Disaster Management Act.
The district administration revealed that more than 2300 seasonal laborers from different states of the country are currently putting up in the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, G.H. Sheikh and officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department were also present on the occasion.
The district administration is providing ration to the registered consumers at their doorsteps as per protocol to avoid public gatherings and observe social distancing during collection and distribution of the essentials.
In the meantime, the DM has renewed his appeal to the public to observe complete lockdown and not to venture out of their homes.
He urged also the people to support administration in identifying the persons who have returned from COVID – 19 – affected countries or have come in contact with suspects and are avoiding compulsory quarantine.
