Div Com reviews progress on construction of bunkers
Jammu,July 19 (Scoop News)-Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today directed Deputy Commissioners of border districts to take strict action against the engineers showing poor performance in the construction of Bunkers on the border.

The Div Com was chairing a meeting with Deputy Commissioners of border districts to review the progress on construction of bunkers along international border and LoC.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, senior officers of executing agencies, while Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch along with Engineers of PWD and RDD attended the meeting through video conferencing.

The Div Com directed the DCs to personally monitor the construction of bunkers, He directed the executing agencies and DCs to set weekly/monthly targets and expedite the pace of work for the construction of individual and community bunkers.

The Deputy Commissioners apprised the Div Com that construction work is being hampered due to slow supply of construction material (cement, steel).

The Div Com directed the concerned agencies to immediately resolve these issues and expedite the pace of work. Taking series note of gaps in the execution of work, he sought strict action against the Engineers concerned.

The DCs concerned informed that 120 bunkers are at different stages of construction in Samba, while work on 298 bunkers in Kathua and 387 in Poonch is in progress.

The DC Rajouri and Jammu also informed about the number of bunkers completed so far and number of bunkers at foundation level, superstructure level, and slab level.
