| Intl. Yoga Day and launch of Shangri-La Pyramid Meditation Hall - 21st Jun at MIMC | | 3-day Intl. Conference – 26 to 28 Jun | 
Leh,June 19 (Scoop News)-Inauguration of Shangri-La Pyramid Meditation Temple, National Conference on Mahakaruna, ‘Non-Violence, and Vegetarianism and Science of Pyramid Mediation will be held on 21st of June, 2019 on the occasion of International Yoga Day celebration, said Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena today. Addressing a press conference at his office at Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Devachan Leh, he said, Founder Worldwide Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement, India Brahmarshi Pitamaha Patriji will be the chief guest.
Also, the grand reception of Thai Pad Yatra delegation and inauguration of the 3-day International Conference on World Peace, 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi, and Preservation of Cultural Heritage of the Himalayas will be organised from 26th to 28th of June, 2019, added Ven. Bhikshu Sanghasena.
Talking in detail about the International Yoga Day, Bikkhu Sanghasena said that MIMC in collaboration with Pyramid Societies Social Movement (PSSM) is inaugurating the first-ever Pyramid Meditation Hall in the region of the Himalayas in the Devachan campus of MIMC. Participants from different religious, social, and political organisations from various parts of Leh, country and the world will be participating in the programme and the yoga session will begin from 06.00 AM – 08.00 AM. About 200 guests from different parts of India and the world are expected to participate, he added. He then extended his invitation to the general public to participate in the event. He further added that the Shangri-La Pyramid Mediation Hall will be open to all seekers of peace and harmony irrespective of caste, creed, religion, gender, nationality and race, added Bikkhu Sanghasena.
Elaborating about the 3-day International Conference, Ven. Bikkhu Sanghasena said that for the last 3 years MIMC has been helping in organising a Pad Yatra from Dharamsala to Leh for large numbers of monks, nuns, and lay people from Thailand for spreading the message of world peace. Similarly, the 4th Pad Yatra that commenced on 25th May will be given a grand reception on the 26th of this month followed by inauguration of 3-day International Conference. This is being done in collaboration with Save the Himalayas Foundation, J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages Leh, Nava Nalanda Mahvihara, and Central Institute of Buddhist studies, Choglamsar.
Governor of Madhya Pradesh Anandiben Patel and Governor of J&K Satya Pal Malik will be chief guests. Ambassador of Thailand to India Chutintorn Gongsakdi, and High Commissioner of Sri-Lanka to India Austin Fernando will be guests of honour and Member Parliament Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal will preside as special guest on the occasion.
Honouring the message of world peace, the Pad Yatra will be given a grand reception at Shey and people from different religious beliefs, political backgrounds, luminaries, organisations of Leh will also participate and will walk to Central Institute of Buddhist studies, Choglamsar where it will be followed by the inauguration of the 3-day International Conference. Here, Ven. Bikkhu Sanghasena extended invitations to the general public to participate in the Walk for World Peace.
On the 27th Academic Session will include talks by known national and international researchers and experts.
On the last day of the 3-day event, monks from Thailand will walk ‘bhiksham-dehi’ – a Walk for World Peace begging for alms from Leh main gate to Shanti Stupa. This walk reaffirms the life of a bhikshu who lives on alms given by people out of generosity. Here, Ven. Bikkhu Sanghasena expressed hope that people will come forward in this noble cause. ]]
