Family of three killed in a horrific car accident | search for missing body continues |
Leh(Ladakh), June 16, (Scoop News)-Three members of family including a minor were killed when their car veered off the road and rolled down into the mighty River Indus near Khaltsi on Thursday, an officials report said on Sunday.
Khaltse is 80 km southwest of Leh, the headquarters of the Himalayan region.
According to the report, two bodies had been recovered so far while the search for the third one is still continuing. The report said Tsering Angmo (40), an X- Ray technician by profession and posted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Skurbuchan, was on the wheels when she lost the control of her car while negotiating a bend.
The report said the accident took place near village Stakmachik on Thursday at 3.45 pm when the family was on its way to Gumta from Khaltsi. Angmo was going to her parent’s home when the tragedy struck the family. FIR No 59 of 2019 under sections 279 and 304 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) has been registered at Police station Leh.
The deceased had been identified as Angmo’s 70 year old father Stanzin Norfil, a resident of Urbis, and her two year old son Stanzin Tsungsmat. The search for Angmo’s body has been going on for past four days now.
Angmo is survived by her husband, Angchuk and a daughter.... |
