Govt urged to settle bills of consumers through amnesty scheme : Yudhvir Sethi | |
Jammu, March 19 (Scoop News)-:Bhartiya Janata Party General State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi today asked Power Development Department (PDD) to stop harassing consumers and start issuing bills and also making recoveries well in time. He said laxity on the part of PDD officials create liabilities and later consumers are harassed by disconnecting their power connections.
Yudhvir Sethi was speaking after meeting a delegation of businesmen of Gummat and Jewel Chowk where PDD officials last week had cut connections of several establishments whose bills were pending. Yudhvir Sethi said that like telephone and cable connections electricity bills should be generated well in time and if not paid by the consumers connections cut at that very month only under rules.
Since, pendencies are created and huge arrears compiled it becomes impossible for consumers especially shopkeepers to pay that .
He assured the delegation that their issues will be taken up with administration. He said earlier also he had led a delegation to Governor wherein it was pleaded to wave off interests so that consumers could pay their arrears as one time settlement. Yudhvir Sethi said that PDD should stop harassing shopkeepers,Consumers and traders and not serve them exaggerated power bills. He said as discussed earlier the department must hold a meeting with affected bazars shopkeepers and waive off their interest so that they are able to pay their principal amount against the electricity used and settle all claims once for all. ... |
