Gagan Bhagat, Luthra, assail BJP for abandoning border residents during its misrule


R S PURA,February 13 (Scoop News)- National Conference leaders on Wednesday lashed out at BJP for abandoning people living along International Border in the Jammu region during its nightmarish rule in partnership with the PDP, saying the promises made during 2014 parliamentary and assembly elections proved just hoax.

Addressing workers at Village Kotali Meian Fatha in R S Pura, former MLA and State Women Wing Vice President Mrs Bimla Luthra said that the BJP did nothing for the people except generating passions on religious and regional lines. She said the promise of providing five marla plots to dwellers of vulnerable areas and reservation in jobs for border youth has turned out a big joke with the people.

Mrs Luthra also criticized the BJP for dividing people, saying their hate politics has caused much damage to the state. She hoped that the people will isolate reactionary forces and strengthen the bonds of amity and brotherhood.

Speaking on the occasion, former MLA Dr Gaggan Bhagat assailed the BJP’s total indifference towards residents of the forward areas and said callousness of its leaders is a classic example of the BJP’s duplicity and deception, which is reflected in alarming measure in the forward areas.
Dr Bhagat hit out at the BJP saying hypocrisy of its leaders stand exposed, as they were liberal in making promises but raised hands when it came to delivering. He said that the border people were suffering due to lack of policy at the Centre in meeting the challenges on borders. He said the people have been living miserable life during the past four years, with nobody addressing their problems.
Dr Gagan Bhagat also referred to the local issues and urged the Governor’s Administration for ensuring power and drinking water services during the ongoing winter and maintaining adequate stocks of foodgrains at the sale outlets so that the rationees are not made to suffer.

Those who were present in the meeting included: Mrs Tilky, Mrs Jyoti Devi, Mrs Rani Devi, Mrs Bharti Devi, Mrs Santosh , Mrs Veena Devi, Mrs Bodh Raj Panch, Mr Sama Ram Panch and others.
