The state unit of BJP denies the reported false news about village Saddal of Udhampur district and terms it as totally malicious story.

The party makes it clear that Dr. Jitendra Singh, MP Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Parliamentary constituency, never officially adopted this village and that any doubt in this regard can be verified from the records of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.

BJP State Spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, while speaking to media persons alongwith senior leader S. Varinderjeet Singh, clarified that the news is false, misleading and to tarnish the image of the sitting MP and that in fact it is Dr. Jitendra Singh who has contributed nearly rupees 80 lakh from his voluntary sources for reconstruction of this village, for which he deserve exclusive credit.

Dr. Jitendra Singh has visited this village number of times after the incident and got road constructed under PMGSY for connecting Saddal with the district, which too is highly appreciable.

Balbir said, how biased and prejudiced is the said news report can be judged from the fact that the reporter is not even aware that it is not the MP but the Jammu & Kashmir Bank which has adopted this village and so far spent rupees one crore to construct houses for the poor and genuinely deserving families. The fake news has been written without even understanding the parameters for officially adopting a village under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. An MP can adopt an existing village which is underdeveloped and develop it as model village. But Saddal village had been completely washed out by floods and required total re-construction. How can a village which does not exist on ground be adopted by an MP?

Balbir further informed that some elements are indulging in false propaganda against BJP and its leaders but the party won’t tolerate and monitor false news on daily basis and those identified for such activities would be dealt firmly.
