| F&F Corps celebrates Army Day, Gen Joshi lays wreath at Leh War Memorial, short film 'Indian Army- Pride of Nation' screened on occasion | |
Leh(Ladakh), January 15, (Scoop News)-On occasion of the 71st Army Day , Lieutenant General YK Joshi, General Officer Commanding, Fire & Fury Corps laid a wreath at the Leh War Memorial
on Tuesday to pay homage to the martyrs of the Indian Army.
All ranks of Fire and Fury Corps and Leh Garrison were present for the solemn ceremony.
The General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps addressed all present at the ceremony and
brought out the importance of Army Day, which is celebrated in recognition of Lieutenant General
KM Cariappa, later Field Marshal KM Cariappa, OBE, taking over as the first Commander-In-Chief
of the Indian Army from Sir Francis Butcher on 15 January 1949.
The occasion witnessed great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor among all those present. The
celebrations concluded with a social interaction amongst the serving soldiers and civil dignitaries. A
short film “Indian Army - Pride of the Nation” was also screened on the occasion.... |
