Rana calls for optimum use of solar energy in domestic use

Jammu,October 13 (Scoop News)- National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Saturday called for optimum use of cost effective solar energy, saying this can relieve pressure on the scarce source of traditional sources of energy.

“In a power deficit state like Jammu and Kashmir, solar energy is the most viable and sustainable source of power to meet domestic requirements”, Mr Rana said while inaugurating a private establishment dealing with solar energy gadgets.

The Provincial President also gave a clarion call to the people to benefit from solar energy gadgets which are cost effective and sustainable. In this context he referred to the scheme launched during the National Conference led government a few years ago, which he regretted, faced rough weather on the implementation front. He said politicization of the scheme has left the beneficiaries deprived of benefits, especially in the rural areas of the State.

Lauding the initiative of the business establishment in generating awareness among the people on use of solar energy as part of its social responsibility, the Provincial President said that harnessing energy from natural renewable sources like the sun, dependence on more environmentally harmful sources such as oil and coal can be decreased. He said solar panel technology has also come a long way and there is greater need of making its optimal use in day to day life. This will also help in maintaining ecology and environment, he added.

The owners of the establishment spelled out the initiatives being taken for popularizing the solar and renewable energy in the city of Jammu. He said the establishment offer complete solar solutions, as it will deal in solar off grid and solar online grid, solar street lights, solar submersible water pumps, solar home system etc. “Our main endeavor will be generating awareness on using solar products.
