Dept. of Computer Science & IT JU in collaboration with IIT Roorkee organizes one week Faculty
Development Programme on Data Analytics and Data Science

Jammu, September 11 (Scoop News)-One week Faculty Development Programme on Data Analytics and Data Science started at Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu, Jammu wherein Prof. Jigar Mohammad, Dean, Research Studies was the Chief Guest. Prof. Jigar Mohammad in his address emphasized that one of the important aspect of the growth of the university is the high quality research and asked the scholars to carry out the research in the latest areas of computer science like data science & data analytics to enhance the quality of research. He appreciated the initiative taken by the faculty of computer sciences & IT for collaborating with prestigious and premier institutes of India like IIT Roorkee.
Mr. Sriraman Rajagopalan from Vowel Softech, industry partner of IIT Roorkee for the conduct of workshop apprised the participants about the course contents of workshop and said that there is huge scope of employment in data science & analytics in computer industry.
Earlier, Prof. Lalit Sen Sharma, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT welcomed the guests. Prof. Sen assured that department shall try its level best to organize such collaborative programmes in order to introduce the latest areas in computer science to academicians, researchers, scholars and students.
Prof. Vinod Sharma, coordinator of the workshop made the participants aware of the schedule and course contents. He also appreciated the Department of computer Science & IT for coordinating with Electronics & ICT academy of IIT Roorkee for conducting such technical workshop.
Prof. Pawanesh Abrol presented vote of thanks. He also thanked the resource persons from IIT Roorkee & industry who have come for providing training to the participants on latest trends relevant to the current technological era.
In total 37 persons registered to the programme which included faculty members from the colleges of the state and outside the state, research scholars and students.
The overall programme was coordinated by Mr. Jasbir Singh, Dr. Jatinder manhas, Mr. Amit Sharma, Mr. Sanjay Manhas and all the staff members of the department.
