Nowhatta fire: DC Srinagar directs for immediate processing of relief under SDRF
Urgent relief in the forms of cash amount and articles of essential use immediately provided to the affected

Srinagar, June 24, (Scoop News)- Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, Sunday directed for immediate processing of relief under SDRF to those affected in the incident of fire that broke out the preceding night at Pandaan Nowhatta here in which 11 residential houses were gutted affecting 18 families.
The affected families were immediately provided urgent relief from the district Red Cross fund with each affected being given an amount of Rs. 4000 in addition to blankets and clothes. Those locals injured in firefighting efforts were also given an amount of Rs 2000 each from the fund.
The DC assured of earliest sanctioning of appropriate relief amounts in favour of the affected. It was said the statement of relief under SDRF has been prepared and will be processed within a couple of days.
Dr Shah while speaking about the incident lauded the local youth for their brave efforts in helping with firefighting and rescue efforts and averting a more serious disaster.
