Dr Jitendra Singh reviews achievements under centrally sponsored schemes
Directs district administrations to create mass awareness, share success stories

Jammu, June 24, (Scoop News)-Union Minister of State for Prime Minister Office (PMO), Dr Jitendra Singh today chaired a series of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee - DISHA meetings to review the physical and financial achievements under various centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar districts at Convention Centre here.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhawani Rakwal, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana, Addl. District Development Commissioner Ramban, Ravinder Nath Sadhu besides other district and sectoral officers.
During the meeting, Dr Jitendra Singh took a comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements of centrally sponsored schemes including MGNREGA, RMSA, PMGSY, DDUGJY , NRLM, PMUJ, SAGY, PMAY, SSA, RMSA, IWMP, PMFBY, PMKSY, PMUY, implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission and many alike.
The Deputy Commissioners of the districts gave a power point presentation on the achievements and progress made in the districts under different schemes during 2017-18 and informed about the latest status of various developmental projects in their respective districts.
Emphasizing on creating mass awareness about various Centrally Sponsored Schemes, Dr Jitendra Singh asked the district administrations to extend their reach to the people at every nook and corner for the effective implementation of welfare schemes at the grassroots level.
He directed them to prepare a list of beneficiaries under various flagship schemes and conduct an interactive programme with them and share their success stories to motivate more population to avail benefits from the schemes launched for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society.
Dr Singh directed the Deputy Commissioners to fix timelines for 100% completion of the ongoing works. “Evolve an effective mechanism for regular monitoring and follow up of all ongoing development works to achieve quality parameters and effective implementation of the schemes”, Dr Singh asserted.
He further instructed them to hold periodic review meetings with all the stake holders and resolve the bottlenecks in effective implementation of the schemes.
Stressing on optimum utilization of available resources, Dr Jitendra Singh exhorted upon the concerned officers to adopt the dynamic approach and stressed on pacing up the speed on various ongoing developmental works to meet the aspirations of the people.
The meeting was also informed about several issues creating hurdles in the progress of effective implementation of these schemes. Dr Jitendra Singh asked the concerned authorities to prioritize the redressal of issues so that the people may not suffer on this account.
On being apprised with the issue of lack of health staff in district hospitals, Dr Singh directed for immediate filling up of vacant post on priority.
