CEC Kargil inaugurates first floor of Council Secretariat building


Kargil, April 16, (Scoop News)-Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan inaugurated the newly refurbished 1st floor of the Council Secretariat building at Kurbathang Kargil here today.
The newly refurbished block houses the office of the Chief Executive Councillor, all Executive Councillors (ECs), Advisor to CEC Kargil and the Council’s Ministerial Staff. Executive Councillor for Rural Development Aga Syed Hassan Armaan Mosavi, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Hussain, Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs Tenzin Sonam, Advisor to CEC Kargil Haji Muhammad Shafi, former CEC Kargil Haji Muhammad Hanifa Jan, former Member Parliament Ladakh Hassan Khan, Councillors, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, besides district officers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Getting constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 23 crore and 76 lakhs, the CEC said that work for the completion of different blocks of the Council Secretariat is in full swing, adding the offices of the Deputy Commissioner and SE PWD are targeted to be completed and shifted to the new building by July this year.
Kacho informed that there is no dearth of funding in completion of the remaining portions of the Council Secretariat and with the completion of work on the ground and the second floor 21 departments shall also be shifted to the new location in due course of time.
The CEC said that said the Council Secretariat marks beginning of a new journey towards a greater and intense development process in the district. Kacho said that it would provide multifarious facilities to people under one roof. He said that house building for conduct of assemblies and meetings, conference halls, meeting rooms, adequate parking facilities, adding other required facilities would be developed at the earliest.
Kacho also thanked the State Government for providing liberal financial assistance and moral support for clearance of the previous liabilities as well as the completion of incomplete works at the Council Secretariat.
The CEC said that intention of each member of the Hill Council should be to bring development and economic upliftment in society, besides to put in their sincere efforts in this direction.
