Bali distributes financial assistance of Rs 8.47 lakh among 22 poor girls under SMAS
Also inaugurates free Medical Camp at Paloura, dev works worth Rs 18 lakh at Mishriwala

Jammu, March 21, (Scoop News)-Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat has distributed financial assistance amounting to Rs. 8.47 lakh among 22 poor girls of Raipur-Domana constituency under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAC), at grievances redressal camp organized at Purkhu near here today.
Under this ambitious welfare initiative, the Government provides a financial assistance amounting to Rs. 38,500/- to a poor girl for solemnizing her marriage. This programme was launched by the present coalition Government to promote the girl child and helping the poor parents who face difficulty in solemnizing the marriages of their daughters.
On the occasion, the locals raised several issues relating to the development of their areas and up-gradation of facilities like drinking water, road connectivity, transport service, health services, lanes and drains, which were addressed on the spot by the Minister. He issued instructions to the sectoral officers to attend the highlighted issued on priority.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it is endeavor of the Government to provide better amenities to the people at their doorstep under a well-knit mechanism. He asked the people to coordinate with the administration and project the local priorities so that the administration takes care of these accordingly. He said several initiatives have been initiated to develop the Raipur-Domana constituency on modern lines, with special emphasis on road connectivity and education sector which are key to the prosperity.
SDM North, Mohammad Illiyas Khan and sectoral officers of various departments, besides local leaders including, Ved Prakash Sharma, Madhusudhan, Sukhdev Singh, Joginder Singh were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Minister also inaugurated developmental works worth Rs 18 lakh at Mishriwala constructed under MG NREGA and other schemes. The works include, three number of hand pumps and eight lanes and drains.
Meanwhile, the Minister also inaugurated a free Medical Camp jointly organized by the health department, World Women Awakening Organization and Criminology Society of J&K at Ward No. 59, Paloura.
Ms. Sneh Lata from World Women Awakening Organization and Mr. Balibir Singh Manhas from Criminology Society were present.
