3 security force personnel,4 militants killed in encounter in Kupwara
CM pays tributes to Police, Army personnel killed in Kupwara gunfight

Srinagar, March 21, (Scoop News)- Three security force personnel, including two policemen, one solider and Four militants were killed and five others injured in an encounter in the forest area of district of Kupwara in North Kashmir.

Reports said that four policemen and two Army jawans were injured in a fresh exchange of fire between militants and security forces in Kupwara district today, The injured were evacuated from the area and rushed to a hospital, where two policemen and an Army jawan succumbed.


The search operation by security forces was suspended last night due to darkness only to be resumed with the first light this morning in the woods in Halmatpora in Kupwara, reports said.

Reports said search operation was still going when the reports last came in.
According to reports the deceased policemen were identified as SPO Mohammad Yousuf and Selection Grade Constable Deepak Thussoo.
Reports said security forces have also launched a search operation in the adjacent forest areas, including Gulgam and Awoora, which is connected to Halmathpora forests.








Meanwhile Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, has paid rich tributes to the four Police and Army personnel who were killed in Halmatpora Kupwara gunfight today.

She expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
