Zulfkar stresses on inculcating moral values, ethics among children

Jammu, December 10, (Scoop News)-Emphasizing that the schools play a vital role in inculcating moral values among the students, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said the educational institutions across the state are doing a commendable job in spreading light of education and preparing students to become leaders of tomorrow.
The Minister was speaking during the 10th Annual Day “Aahvaan 2017” celebrations of GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust.
Among others, Vice-Chairman JAKFED Munish Sharma, MLA Sukhnandan Kumar Choudhary, Chairman of the School, Managing Committee, President Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust, School Management besides parents and students attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said it is important to inculcate values, ethics and responsibility towards community among the younger generation.
He exhorted upon the school management to make sure that the institution serves as a vibrant centre of excellence. He added that the education sector is being prioritized for its promotion in all respects.
He said that private sector is doing excellent work in the field of education and government acknowledges their contribution in improving literacy rate in the state.
The Minister said schools are revered as a sacred place in the society in view of their role in shaping the future of the nation and it must be our prime concern to impart quality education to students besides promoting ethical values among them.
The Minister congratulated School administration for creating wonderful environment of education for the students. He lauded the achievements of the school and said that it has carved a name of its own in the field of education.
The Minister stressed on the need to introduce Consumer Education as a subject in schools so that the children know about their rights right from the beginning.
Earlier, Principal Rajesh Rathore presented the annual school report and achievements of students in both academics and extracurricular activities.
Meanwhile, the students presented a colourful cultural programme which include patriotic song by the talented singers and instrumentalists who depicted the ethos of soldiers and spread the message of love, peace and harmony.
Later, the Minister along with other dignitaries felicitated meritorious students of the school.
