| SOS Intl observes protest on the eve of International Human Rights Day | | 
Jammu, December 09, (Scoop News)- S. O. S. International - An Organization for PoK Displaced Person today organized a protest on the eve of International Human Rights Day near Tawi Bridge, Jammu. S. O. S. International Chairman, Rajiv Chuni along with other office bearers and hundreds of PoK Displaced Persons gathered near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh to observe the protest. While speaking on the occasion, S. O. S. International Chairman, Rajiv Chuni said that despite observing this day by PoK DPs every year to bring the attention of whole world over their plights; it is quite regrettable that not the State, Centre or even UN that has founded this day has ever noticed our problems. “It is very unfortunate that Human Rights of PoK DPs have been violating for the last 7 decades and in this big duration of 70 years none of the leaders of any political party hasn’t join hands or stand with us while we observe this day and it seems that they have turned totally hostile to us”, S. O. S. International Chairman alleged.
While launching a scathing attack over BJP and Regional Party of the State, Mr. Chuni said that supremo of regional party has recently made a quite offensive statement like “PoK should be given to Pakistan and this side of Jammu and Kashmir must be retained with India” was damned by BJP and it lodged strong protest over it and said that in the year 1994, Parliament of India unanimously passed a resolution to bring back the territory i.e. Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) to India from the clutches of Pakistan as it is an integral part of India but the resolution was made to bring only land. Nothing was stated about the victims of PoK who left their all during that massacre powered by Pakistani army along with Tribal (Kabalies). He further said PoK DPs have tolerated a lot since 1947 and it’s their third generation that is still witnessing the plight of poverty, discrimination, apathy on the part of Government.
“In the shameful exercise of BJP and supremo of regional party of giving and taking of land but where do 12 lakh PoK DPs stand in this whole course of giving and taking”? He asked. Mr. Chuni further stated that PoK DPs who took the bullets on their chests during tribal invasion which was endorsed and supported by Pakistani army in order to save the State have been facing the brunt of its own leadership since 1947 and the spree of facing such rough treatment is still continued. “PoK DPs might have appreciated such leaders or political parties if they talk about the betterment of inhabitants of the PoK who were forcefully thrown out from their native places but on the contrary, they have been playing their dirty politics which can be called only disgusting and pathetic”, he added. “Human Rights of PoK DPs have been violated in repeated manner and no one noticed. He further said that all the rights have been snatched from PoK and to get back their rights they have been battling in a democratic way for the last 70 years, he added.
S. O. S. International Chairman further added that BJP who used to say that the State of Jammu and Kashmir is at ultimate risk has changed the whole scenario by itself because stone-pelters are given clemency moreover, stone-pelters who throw stones on our security forces in order to provide cover to terrorists at encounter sites are provided with jobs and all the credit of this pursuit goes to none other but to BJP. “The list of BJP’s foul deeds is quite long as this specific party has not left any stone unturned to put PoK DPs in ultimate state of trauma. PoK DPs are just pain in the neck for BJP and Valley migrants have become the apple of its eyes as 2 Valley migrants were made as MLCs even after knowing the fact KPs least bothered to cast their votes to any party. KPs are given monthly cash relief, free accommodation, free ration, reservation in Government Jobs, reservation to their wards in technical and professional colleges across the country and several other benefits but on the contrary, PoK DPs are not given such facilities. Till today, PoK DPs are forced to spend their lives in 39 filthy camps. Why is there such drastic prejudice between communities? Why are BJP policies confined to Valley migrants only? Why are our rights not delivered to us?” Mr. Chuni asked.
He further said that institutions like Parliaments, State Assemblies and others are meant for the betterment of common masses but it seems they all have become hostile towards PoK DPs. “The Government of India has appointed an Interlocutor to get the views of the various sections of the society but as per his actions, it seems that he is getting dictates from the centre as he rushed to Satellite Township to meet Valley migrants. Why hasn’t he visited to PoK DPs to know their pain?” Mr. Chuni asked. He stated that BJP has kept grudge against PoK DPs who are struggling for only justice. Isn’t it called sheer violation of our Human Rights where PoK DPs are given such inhumane treatment by previous and present dispensation at every step? He asked.
Displaced Persons from PoK are the most unfortunate section of the society and keeping different eye adds more woes to their plight”, Mr. Chuni added. “Our message is very clear that PoK DPs will not sit still until their demands are met and they must be given their due rights for which they have been struggling since long”, Mr. Chuni reiterated. He appealed PoK DPs to identify anti PoK DPs groups/parties and teach them such hard-hitting lesson in coming polls so that they don’t dare to exploit us anymore. `
