| IKFS asks Indian TRAI , MOI and NBA to broadcast Arabic TV channels. | | 
Kuwait, November 19, (Scoop News)-Indo Kuwait Friendship Society (IKFS) has submitted a memorandum to India’s Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Ministry of Information and News Broadcasters Association (NBA), the representative body of private television news channels in India to broadcast and telecast Arabic TV Channels in India.
IKFS in a statement has pointed out in the memorandum, there are more than 30 million Indians are working in Arab and Middle Eastern countries whose first language is Arabic. In order to grasp and learn Arabic it is necessary to promote Arabic language and spread Arabic TV networks in India.
Statement furthersad that India is having good relationship with Arab countries. IKFS cannot understand, why Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority is not allowing to broad cast and telecast Arabic TV Channels or push multi-system operators (MSOs) and cable operators to broadcast Arabic TV channels. Indian TRAI should place Arabic television channels at more than one frequency (channel number) and under multiple genres simultaneously. IKFS President Dr. Ghalib Al Mashoor , reiterated in the memorandum that MSOs run large cable distribution networks. Currently, there are 700 MSOs and 60,000 cable operators in the country and none of them place any ARABIC TV Channels. Indian Government should support various cable distribution platforms multiple times under different genres, making all Arabic TV channels appear more than once in their electronic program guide (EPG).
IKFS sees that this can be easily implemented if “Multi-system operators (MSOs)” carry Arabic channels on their network, and should be mandated to place Arabic channels in the genre so declared by the broadcaster of that channel. Its really pity that more than 20 Billion U.S. Dollars remitted by Indians annually from Arab and Islamic countries, while India cannot exchange cultural and social information of Arabs in Arabic language. All of the Arabic TV channels broadcast Indian films in HINDI and other national languages and cultural news while India is ignorant to spread Arab cultural programs in India. IKFS asks India Government to intervene and get availed Arabic channels for India’s 200 million Muslims.
