Humanity Welfare Organization organises regional parental meet of mental disable children

Baramulla,November 18, (Scoop News)-A high level awareness camp for 2 days was organised by Humanity Welfare Organisation Helpline in collaboration with PARIVAAR a confederation of parents of children with mental disabilities. The programme is sponsored by National Institute for empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities Scunderabad. Programme was inaugurated at Thimaya hall Baramulla by Lt. Colonel Dagger Division in presence of Chairman Humanity welfare organization HELPLINE Bijbehara, Principal institute of special education NIEPID,s Scunderabad, Sheregar Bijure president PARIVAAR and M.L.A Baramulla.



In his welcome address the organisor of programme Javed Ahmad Tak said that it is the disability in common man for not knowing aspirations and thoughts of mental disable persons. Although all of us are proud for having healthy brain but we are helpless to educate the children with mental disabilities, Tak added. Welcoming all the guests Javed Tak gave special welcome to the children with disabilities and boosted them by all participant stand up cheers.
Principal of special education Institute Dr Ganesh Sheregar gave detailed introduction about the National institute for empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities. He narrated policy programmes and benefits devised for mental disable people with special reference to children lying with NIEMPID"s Scunderabad.


Sheregar Bijure the president PARIVAAR represented the parents association and as a parent also. He gave detailed knowledge about working of PARIVAAR the parent association based in Pune. He emphasis on rights rather than charities for the children with intellectual disabilities. He promised of full support for the parents association if established in Baramullah. In addition Mr Bijure said that if five mothers of children with mental disabilities unite to establish a special school in Baramulla, PARIVAAR will provide full training to such mothers and will provide monthly support of 1000 rupees per child subjected to the punctuality and regularity of the student.


M.L.A Baramullah Javed Ahmad Beigh made whole audience emotional while declaring himself as parent of a mental disable girl child. He stressed on state government not to neglect the children with disabilities but to empower them completely as a healthy vote bank. He announced provision of land for establishing developmental center for the children with disabilities along with expenses needed for it through his constituency development fund.


On the occasion 6 students with mental disabilities were given learning kits containing various exercising material about money, time, measuring, weighing, stitching and other livelihood generating material. The programme will conclude on 19th of November with the distribution of 106 kits among students enrolled in different government schools of Baramullah and three special schools including shafaqat special school Srinagar, LIfe help special school channa pora Srinagar and Zaiba Aapa institute of inclusive education Bijbehara Kashmir
