Youth must inherit knowledge of Indian culture: Priya Sethi
State Level Quiz Competition “Bharat ko Jano” held
Jammu, November 18, (Scoop News)-Minister of State for Education, Culture and Tourism Priya Sethi emphasized on knowledge inheritance of Indian Culture by the youth.
The Minister was speaking during State Level Quiz Competition “Bharat ko Jano” as Chief Guest.
The competition was organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad J&K Prant at Government College for Women, Parade, Jammu.
Principal GCW Dr. Hemla Aggarwal was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi lauded the organizers for conducting this competition every year for the sole purpose of imparting knowledge of Indian culture civilization, moral values and Patriotism among youth. She laid thrust on conducting competitions based on Indian culture, civilization, history, geography etc and also asked the organizers to hold such competitions in each and every school of Jammu. She said that Indian culture and civilization is the way of life and youth shall follow these principles.
The Minister interacted with the participants and wished them with great success in the future.
Convenor of the competition Gopal Sharma, narrated the rules and regulations of the competition which was conducted in two categories i.e Senior and Junior.
In Junior category, students from 6th to 8th class and in Senior category, students from 9th to 12th class participated.
In the neck to neck competition of junior category, Learning Temple School, Kathua bagged first position where as M.N.K.G School, Gandhi Nagar stood second and the third position was jointly shared by Spring Blossom Public School and Learning Higher Secondary School respectively.
In senior category, Learning Temple School, Kathua bagged first position where as Guru Harkrishan Public School stood third and S.M Jain Higher Secondary School and JK Montessori School, Talab Tillo shared the third position.
The Quiz competition was conducted by quiz mistress Jyotsna Sharma supported by Quiz Masters M.L Vaid, Gopal Sharma and Arun Sharma.
The Dignitaries also distributed mementos among the winning teams.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were State President Amita Sharma ,State General Secretary, Ved Parkash Gupta, Regional Secretary ,Rakesh Sachdeva ,Dr Santosh Gupta, Arun Sharma, S.N Sharma, State Patron, Purshotam Dadeechi, R.C Sharma, Dr. D.R Kotwal, R P Gandotra, Vijay Sharma, besides other members of BVP, teachers from different schools and citizens from all walks of life.
It was also informed that winning teams will participate in the Regional Level Competition to be held at Rohtak(Haryana) on 26th November.
