Several deputations meet CM, put up demands
Seek Hill Dev Council for Pir Panchal, beautification of Kathua Rly Stn, Reasi Hospital upgradation, civic facilities’ improvement at Bathindi
Jammu, November 18, (Scoop News)-Several deputations met the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here today, brought their problems into her notice and sought their redressal.
A deputation of youth from Pir Panchal area sought Hill Development Council status for the region to pace up its developmental needs. They also sought creation of rest rooms along the Jammu-Poonch National Highway and speeding up of work on Poonch campus of Jammu University.
The deputation also demanded setting up of more educational institutes in the region and introduction of Arabic and Persian languages in the Jammu University in view of the international demand of these languages.
Several deputations from Jammu city demanded improvement in basic civic amenities like link roads, drains, drinking water and electricity in the city areas. They specifically sought improvement of civic facilities in Bathindi-Sunjwan area in view of the huge rush of people during winters.
A deputation of political migrants demanded proper accommodation facilities to them and appropriate share in the PM package for employment.
A deputation of people from Kathua demanded instructions to the concerned authorities for removing junk and industrial waste from the local Railway Station. They also demanded face-lifting and beautification of Kathua Railway Station besides construction of Kathua-Kharote road to improve connectivity in the area.
A deputation from Reasi demanded strengthening of facilities at the local District Hospital and establishment of a Maternity unit there. They also sought development of tourism in the area in view of huge rush of pilgrims.
A deputation of All J&K Graduate Engineers Association sought removal of stagnation in their promotions, timely regularisations and adoption of a mechanism of running grades. Another deputation of Laboratory Assistants of Education Department sought release of their pending salaries.
A deputation of retired employees of J&K Minerals Ltd. demanded release of pending COLA installments and other pensionary benefits in their favour.
The Chief Minister listened patiently to the demands put forth. She assured the deputations that the issues raised would be got addressed in a time bound manner.
