warn 'Jai Chands' of Jammu for bartering interests of region
Jammu, September 23, (Scoop News)-In connection with the birthday celebrations of Maharaja Hari Singh, Team Jammu organised functions at 50 different places across Jammu province, from Poonch to Lakhanpur and Kishtwar to Arnia where the enthuisatic activists of Team Jammu distributed ‘sweets and halwa’ among the people. In border area Arnia, the activists braved the border shelling and celebrated the birth anniversary of last Dogra ruler of J&K.
They chanted slogans in praise of Maharaja and described him visionary and social reformers.
In Poonch, Muslim brethern organised a special function to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh and distributed sweets and halwa among the people.
They demanded that the goverment should refrain from hurting the sentiments of the people in Jammu region and announce a gazetted holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja which would be a befitting tribute this great social reformer.
While addressing the volunteers of Team Jammu, chariman, Zorawar Singh Jamwal came down heavily on PDP-BJP govt for not declaring September 23rd as state holiday.
“For the last 70 years, BJP and its affiliated organizations were exploiting sentiments of the people of Jammu region but after getting power these groups are now indulged into gagging voice of the people and they stand exposed”, he said and regretted that instead of taking a tough stand on the issue of declaring state holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari
Singh, BJP leaders were brazenly indugled into bargaining.
“Our patience is running out. People of Jammu will not tolerate these Jai Chands who have bartered Jammu’s wishes and aspirations for their petty personal gains”, he said and warned that in the days to come this agitation would be intensified.
