JK participates in Pune, Mumbai travel shows
Pune, September 22, (Scoop News)-J&K Tourism participated in the Travel Trade Fair Pune and Indian International Travel Mart (IITM) Mumbai to showcases diversified tourism products of the State and to tap the market from Maharashtra.
Both TTF Pune and IITM Mumbai and Travel and Tourism Fairs are India's leading exhibitions for the travel and tourism industry.
TTF Pune was inaugurated today by Mayor Puna Municipal Corporation Mukta Tilak and will culminate on September 24, 2017.
Assistant Director Tourism Kashmir Ifham Shah and C B Kaul from J&K Tourism Development Corporation are participating in the TTF Pune while as Tourist Officer Mumbia Shafqat Yatoo and Mushtaq Ahmad Margray from Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation participated in IITM Mumbai. The representatives of travel trade industry of the J&K state are also participating in the travel shows to promote different destinations of the state.
The department aims to showcase diversified products of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh during TTF.
Large number of visitors and guests who visited J&K pavilion has shown keen interest and enquired about the most sought after destinations like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam,Sonmarg, Yousmarg, Patnitop, Sanasar, Mansar, Bhaderwah, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji Katra and Ladakh.
Delegation also highlighted the lesser known and upcoming destinations like Verinag, Aharbal, Mantalai, Rajouri, Surinsar, Suchetgarh, Shahdra Sharief Shrine, Peer ki Gali, Kargil.
On the inaugural day today, short documentaries and videos on tourism products were shown to the guests.
The Department distributed brochures, flyers and other publicity material highlighting the different destinations of the state.
J&K Tourism Development Corporation offered special packages and discount at all its properties.
J&K Tourism also participated in the Travel Trade Fair in Mumbai which started from September 21.
Director Tourism Kashmir said Maharashtra is a good market for Kashmir as large number of travelers come from this place for holidaying in valley.
“Kashmir and Maharashtra has developed a good bond in tourism industry as we receive good number of travelers from Maharashtra. This is a biggest market for us. Our participation in Pune and Mumbai travel marts will reinforce our market share from Maharashtra,” said Director Tourism.
