Medical camps held at Uri and Naugam

Srinagar,September 19, (Scoop News)-A Medical Camp was organized by the Army in association with the Social Welfare Department, Government of India for the assessment & distribution of medical aids to differently abled people of Uri tehsil.

A team of eight doctors from the Army and Social Welfare Department attended to more than 250 patients and gave them basic medical treatment. 120 medical aids like crutches, hearing aids, neck collars, waist belts were distributed to the differently abled persons.

In addition, registration of people who are in need of such medical aid was also done and the second phase of the camp will be done in the coming months.
Another Medical Camp to provide free periodical dental check up and oral hygiene awareness programme for primary level students was conducted at Army Goodwill School, Naugam. A team of Army dental specialists carried out a comprehensive dental check up cum inspection of 115 students. The camp commenced with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments and stressing on reasons for tooth decay and measures to prevent them.
Such camps are of great value to the locals who come from remote areas and they were highly appreciative of the efforts and expressed their gratitude to the Army.
