SMVDCoN finalises arrangements for admission of Nursing Course


Jammu, May 26, (Scoop News)-The 14th meeting of the Governing Body of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing ((SMVDCoN), Kakryal, was held here and finalised the arrangements for entrance test and admission for the Second Batch of the 4 year B. Sc. Nursing Course at the College.

The meeting chaired by Maj. Gen. S. K. Sharma (Retd), Member Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Body, was attended by Governing Body members: Mr. Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board; Dr. V. Verma, Dean, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Dr. (Brig) M. M. Harjai, Administrator; and Dr. (Mrs.) Shailla Cannie, Principal of the College.


The meeting was informed that the last date for filling up online application forms by the candidates for admission to the Second Batch of the SMVDCoN is 30th May 2017. The Entrance Examination will be conducted on 4th June at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and the classes for the Second Batch (2017-18) will start in mid July 2017.


Besides, the Governing Body also finalised the arrangements for Faculty Development Programme for the faculty of SMVDCoN to be held on 5-6 June 2017 at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.


It is pertinent to mention that the SMVDCoN is approved by the Indian Nursing Council and J&K State Nursing Council with an intake capacity of 60 students. The College which is following Semester and Credit Based system as per the latest guidelines of the UGC is affiliated to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.


The College has highly qualified faculty and is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure like smart classrooms and WiFi connectivity, modern labs, a well stocked library with facility of on-line journals for quality learning. A well furnished hostel has been prepared for the students for their comfortable stay and facilities for hygienic food.


The added advantage of this Nursing College is its attachment to the SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, Kakryal for providing high quality clinical exposure to the students for their professional training.


Besides regular classes, guest lectures on latest trends in the field of nursing are organised by experts in this field. Special classes are conducted for the students who require special attention in any particular subject.
