| IG Railways visits Katra,Addreses Darbar of Jawans | |
Katra, May 26, (Scoop News)- Inspector General of Police, Railways Shri Rajesh Kumar, held a Darbar of officers and officials of Railway Sub Division Katra and Udhampur at GRP Lines Katra today. The Darbar was attended by the officers including Sh. Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP Railways Katra, SDPO Railways Katra, SDPO Railways Udhampur, SHO and I/C PPs and other officers of GRP Katra.
The IGP while addressing the Jawans and officers appreciated their performance and efforts, they have put in for the safety and security of the commuters and Railways property. He said that GRP is shouldering responsibility of safety and security of the passengers and pilgrims, who visit Shri. Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Katra as Katra Railway Station has gained national importance.
IGP impressed upon the personnel to plan the security at the Railway Stations and track in a manner so that responsibility of every GRP personnel deployed is fixed. It should be ensured that no passenger/visitor is permitted to enter the Railway station premises without frisking and thorough checking of his luggage through installed X-ray baggage scanners. He instructed the GRP personnel to perform their duties with high alertness and keep a close watch on the anit-social, anti-national elements.
He briefed the Jawans and officers with regard to the different welfare schemes initiated by the department to provide assistance to the Police personnel. He directed the supervisory officers to attend the welfare cases of the needy personnel on priority and forward the cases beyond their competence to higher offices for necessary action accordingly. He gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the officers and officials and issued on spot directions for their redressal .
SSP Railways Katra gave a detailed briefing to the IGP with regard to the manpower deployed at the Railway Stations and about 66 Kms Railway track falling in the jurisdiction of GRP Katra for the safety and security of the Railway system.
