| Charioteer undeclared in State Governance:Hindu Mahasabha | | Jammu, May 25, (Scoop News)- Series of unparalleled statements from different mouth-pieces of Governance over Kashmir have led to a situation where it is hard to decide on who infact is pulling the chariot of the trouble torn state. Uncontrollable public unrest and continued incidents of militancy leave many questions that have been haunting every mind, more particularly in view of the countdown to the prestigious Amarnath Yatra.
Though the Government of India has decided to make massive deployment of Central forces for smooth conduct of the yatra, the moot question remains as to what steps have been taken to strengthen the dispensation in place in the state. State Police has been on the back bench and the Defence Minister has made it clear that Army is fully authorised to take the final call in dealing with the ground situation. There is a difference of opinion in weighing the separatist Hurriyat Conference leaders at many levels in the coalition itself, which is ludicrous. There seems hardly any effort from any corner for a make-over and a state of uncertainty prevails. Opposition has successfully taken some people from the ruling parties in its fold and have been found sitting together in deciding the fate of the state consulting the Hurriyat.
In absence of well-defined roles in the administration, lack of cohesion is evident. This is resulting in scattering of inputs, failure of plans and serious economic as well as developmental deformities that will have long lasting impact on the health of the state in times to come. There is hardly any accountability and the officialdom is visible everywhere. Governmental activities are being loaded on social apps as well as media by the officers at their own without consulting the state’s Information Department or the concerned authorised senior foramtion. Recruitment in Police that is underway for a couple of months now is being taken by many involved in this exercise as their personal obligation by being regular in uploading on social apps the everyday happening on this score. This is unwarranted when the Police Headquarters or the Recruitment Wing is in place besides the Information Department. For the last over many years now, the Information Department is being used as a tool for personal publicity by many Government functionaries, may these be the political or bureaucratic. Experiences show that there is a clear junction line between the unscrupulous, who mastermind this all, air the functioning of a few leaving aside real reporting. Biased reporting by the well-fed newspapers of the state and uncultured as well as unprofessional channels are doing nothing but downgrading the image of Government.
There has been over the last few weeks an unforeseen trend in the functioning of the State Government. There is a complete shift of loyalty and in many matters the Chief Minister is not being kept abreast of the curtained activities, which are being looked into by someone else. Chief Minister on her own handed-over the charge of Information Department to his colleague in the Ministry, the reason behind which is unclear. In absence of a centralised system of information, the people remain uniformed and fall a prey to the malicious propaganda that is well managed by mischievous elements within the Government. There was no need to wind-down the Governance as by doing so, Mehbooba Mufti will lose confidence of people of the state further, said ABHMS Mahila Wing President Seema Mahajan. There is not an iota of doubt in it that forces of disturbance are taking lead to fulfil their aim of zeroing the PDP.
