Hall of Fame, a major tourist attraction of Leh, reopens Ladakh summer tourist- 2017
showcases valour and sacrifice of Indian army and and also displays rich cultural heritage of region






Leh(Ladakh), April 23, (Scoop News)-Hall of Fame, the star tourist attraction of Leh reopens the Ladakh summers tourist season of 2017 with a grand ‘Military Band Display’ on Saturday evening.

The opening ceremony was graced by Chief Executive Councillor Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo, Lieutenant General PJS Pannu, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps, civil dignitaries, Army officers, Ex-servicemen and gallantry award winners.



The Hall of Fame was initially established in 1986 to showcase the valour, and sacrifice of the Indian Army and also to display the rich culture and heritage of the Ladakh region.


In 2015, a major renovation cum expansion project was initiated to provide better perspective and experience to the visitors.


The renovated Hall of Fame was rededicated to the people of Ladakh on 13 Jun 2016. Hall of Fame at Leh had topped the list of five Indian museums which figured in the list of best 25 museums of Asia.


This emerged in a survey by ‘Trip Advisor’ which ranked the museums as per views expressed by travelers. Hall of Fame at Leh was voted as a “Must Visit” place by travelers in the survey in Sep 2016.



A large number of spectators had gathered to watch the military band display. The military band played and marched in changing formations to tunes like ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’ and ‘Sare Jahan Se Aachha’ among other military tunes.


This was followed by a ‘Fusion Band Display’ which played ‘Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon’, ‘Raag Yaman’ and other soulful music. The display inspired patriotic feelings among the spectators and was a great hit among them.
