SSWB secures relaxation of norms for Crèche Centers in JK
Jammu, March 23, (Scoop News)-J&K State Social Welfare Board (SSWB) today said that the department has convinced Central Social Welfare Board (CSWB) to relax some conditions with regard to flow of funding of functional creche centers in the state run by various NGOs on the pattern of States of Assam and Meghalaya.
Secretary SSWB in a press release issued here said the department has received a letter that mentions the decision taken in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Ministry of Women &Child Development, Government of India.
“For all functional crèches institutions under Central Social Welfare Board that have complied with NITI Aayog portal (relaxation to be given for the states of Assam , Meghalaya and Jammu &Kashmir ), the grants may be released for the first three quarters of 20016-17 even in cases where the user charges have not been collected by the implementing agencies. “read the letter received by SSWB.
The efforts finally resulted into inclusion of J&K state in the list of other North East States which availed relaxation of such norms mentioned under the new guidelines of CSWB, the Secretary said.
The Secretary SSWB giving background about the issue said that the NGOs running the Crèche centers in the State were to comply with NITI Aayog portal for registration, which is required for some mandatory conditions like furnishing of information, absence of which could stop the grants.
The Secretary said Chairperson SSWB convinced the CSWB that due to abnormal conditions in the valley during last summer, inspection of the crèches as well as linkage of Aadhar cards with the NITI Aayog portal, was difficult affair. He said the Chairperson recommended the case of J&K be treated at par with other North East states.
The press release further read that earlier Chairperson SSWB Dr. Nirmal Gupta had also briefed Dr. Jitendra Singh about the problem resulting in delay of funding as well as user charges....
