Mirwaiz prays for stability of Pakistan, greets people on its national day




Srinagar, March 23, (Scoop News)-Separtist APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to be under house arrest, greeted the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan day and prayed for stability and prosperity of the country.

Mirwaiz said the creation of Pakistan was an assertion of the political and religious identity of the Muslims of the subcontinent , who had greatly suffered at the hands of the British colonial rule and had to make huge sacrifices for their independence.

He said it is incumbent upon the Government of Pakistan and its people to utilise their resources and work towards a building a strong, peaceful egalitarian, tolerant and progressive nation as was the dream of Quaid-e-Azam for the nation.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat spokesman strongly condemned the arrests and house arrests of resistance leaders including APHC leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Geelani, Mohammad Yasin Malik and others to prevent them from attending the Pakistan day function at the Pakistan high Commission in Delhi.

The spokesman said that stopping Hurriyat leaders from attending the function shows the authoritarian and repressive mindset of the rulers and was a senseless measure.
