Team Jammu pays glowing tributes to martyrs, vows to liberate youth from drug addiction


Jammu, March 23, (Scoop News)- Exhorting youth to launch a war against menace of drug addiction, chairman of Team
Jammu Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Thursday regretted that thousands and thousands of people had scarified their lives to liberate India from British rule but young generation of the country is now falling into the prey of drugs and other abuses.

“We have to launch another war of Independence and this time we have to liberate our youth from the
yoke of menace like drug addictions”, Mr Jamwal said while addressing a function to pay tributes of
Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru on their martyr day here at function organized at Shopping
Center Bakshi Nagar, today.

“Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev had scarified their lives in their young age to make India which is free from all chains but it is very unfortunate that after 70 years of Independence our younger generation in falling into the prey of drugs and other menace.

When those martyrs had sacrificed their lives to contribute for freedom struggle, they would have never dreamt that after 70 years of Independence , the country would again get slave and this time salves of Drug Mafia”, he said and revealed that the menace of drug was gradually griping Jammu province.

“It is a high-time to awake from deep slumber because drugs and narcotics are slightly consuming lives of the youth. Keep aside your political affiliations and come forward to take this war to the logical conclusion”, Jamwal said and added that Team Jammu has already started a campaign in to liberate youth from the yoke of drug addiction.

“No section of the society could escape from this menace. Wherever we are going as part of our campaign parents are coming forward to narrate their tales of woes. We have to jointly fight this war because youth of each and every community have become victim of this menace”, he said.

In his address, SDPO, Bakshi Nagar, Nikhil Rasgotra and SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar, Inspector Ashwini Sharma too appreciated the youth for organizing such events and remembering martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Sukh Dev and Rajguru. They appealed to gathering to come forward and help police in curbing drug menace and identifying those drug peddlers who are targeting our future generation.

Youth leader Karan Jeet Singh Lucky also spoke on the occasion and appealed to youth of the area especially the women section to strengthen Team Jammu which is working day and night for saving the future of Jammu Province....
