| LAHDC developing Slaughterhouses in scientific and organized way | |
Leh, March 13, (Scoop News)-Regarding development of slaughterhouse at Chushot & Stok area in scientific manner and to shift temporary slaughterhouse from Bomb Garh to Chushot & Stok area at the earliest, the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Dr. Sonam Dawa Lonpo and EC Animal & Sheep Mmutaz Hussain today convened a meeting of officers headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh Mozes Kunzang at Council Secretariat today. Others who attended the meeting were Administrator MC, Leh, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Leh, Executive Engineers of Construction and PHE divisions and Tehsildar Leh.
The meeting after detail discussion and on spot visit of slaughterhouse sites and Bomb Garh area decided to develop the slaughterhouse area at Chushot & Stok in most scientific and organized way. CEC Dr. Dawa directed Chief Animal Husbandry Officer to prepare a comprehensive DPR of the slaughterhouse keeping in mind the importance of Hygiene and use of animal wastes as manure etc. For funding of the project, Dr. Dawa directed Administrator MC Leh Dr. Zaida to submit the same project to Urban Dev. Ministry J&K Govt at the earliest and assured Council’s strong follow-up to through the project.
To give a facelift to the slaughterhouse in coming months, the meeting decided to start the project in phased manner and Dr. Dawa directed Dr. Zaida to release funds for earliest fencing of the slaughterhouse area through Rural Dev. Dept. For possible expansion of the area, Dr. directed Tehsildar Leh to earmark required land for the project and also directed Exn PHE for earliest digging of bore well at the site.
The meeting also decided to develop butcher market near pologround by demolishing govt. quarters adjacent to pologrond/Kidar House. CEC Dr. Dawa directed ADC Leh and Administrator MC Leh to prepare a plan for earliest development of butcher market so that butcher shops from Leh market would be shifted at the earliest.
While visiting Bomb Garh area, CEC Dr. Dawa also directed for earliest shifting of Bus Stand from Leh to Bus Terminal area earmarked at the Bomb Garh area and also directed Dr. Zaida to shift Kargil Taxi Stand from sport complex to Municipality area at Bomb Garh area.
