Rs 35 cr released for restoring flood damages in Leh: Abdul Haq
Jammu, January 16, (Scoop News)- Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan replying on behalf of the Minister for Ladakh Affairs Department informed the House that the Government has released Rs 35 crore to restore the temporary and permanent damages caused by floods in Phuktal river in Leha. He said the funds include Rs 20 crore under SDRF and Rs 15 crore under PMDP.
For Kalchakra, against the proposed requirement of Rs. 15.25 crore, an amount of Rs. 6.91 crore has been authorized and balance funds will be considered in phases and subject to availability of resources, he added.
The Minister replying to the question raised by Dalden Namgiyal regarding the liabilities of LAHDC Leh against the work done, informed that there are liabilities of Rs 881.55 lakh on account of restoration of infrastructure damaged due to flashfloods in 2015. Also there is a balance work done liability of Rs 834.37 lakh on account of works executed on the eve of Kalchakra event in district Leh.
