| Farooq Andrabi felicitates people on Sheikh-ul-Alam’s Urs | | Srinagar, October 27, (Scoop News)- Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi, today felicitated people of the State on the 596th Urs of Sheikh-ul-Alam Sheikh Noor-u-Deen Noorani (RA), popularly known as Nund Reshi. The Urs will be observed tomorrow at Chrar-i-Sharief in Budgam district.
In his message, Andrabi said that Nund Reshi is the patron saint in Kashmir and highly revered by both Muslims and Hindus. His Shrukhs (poetry) are very famous in the valley in which he preached the message of spirituality, love, amity, and brotherhood.
The Minister directed the district administration Budgam and officials of Wakaf Board to oversee the arrangements and ensure all facilities, especially electricity, water, sanitation and transport for the convenience of devotees, who are expected to visit the Sufi mystic’s shrine in large numbers on the Urs day.
