Advisor to CM reviews development, security scenario at Anantnag
Anantnag, October 27, (Scoop News)- Advisor to the Chief Minister, Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, today chaired a meeting here to review the developmental and security scenario of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, apprised the Advisor about the law and order situation and the development scenario in the District.
A detailed presentation highlighting progress made in different sectors like R&B, PHE, PDD, Health, Agriculture -allied sectors was made before the Advisor. The DC informed the Advisor that ration under the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) has been distributed among the consumers in addition to their normal ration quota during the past three months.
ASP Anantnag informed the Advisor that measures have been taken to reach out to youth, besides drive against the menace of drug addiction has also been launched, and De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre has already been established in the district.
The Advisor was informed that the work on the Sports Stadium, Bijbehara is already going on and a proposal for the construction of an indoor stadium is in pipeline. Besides, he was told that various civil works are going on in Kokernag, Verinag and Qazigund areas of the district, besides the new building as Officers Chamber, Dak Bunglow have been completed and are ready for moving in.
On the occasion, the DC sought the intervention of the Advisor regarding facilitation of in-house training for the youth sponsored under schemes like HIMAYAT, UDAAN, etc. Besides, he requested for new job avenues for the educated unemployed youth of the district.
While appreciating the role of the district administration and police during the past three months, the Advisor said that extra efforts are needed to involve youth in overall progress of the district. Prof. Mattoo stressed on the executing agencies to expedite works on the ongoing developmental projects so that they can be completed within the stipulated time.
