Leh going to observe death anniversary of 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpochey on November 4

Leh, October 27, (Scoop News)- All the Government schools of Leh district will observe the death anniversary of HH 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpochey on the 4th November, 2016 as a part of HH 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpochey Education Campaign and a yearlong programme will be observed next year to mark the 100 years of Bakula Rinpoche, said Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh Dr. Sonam Dawa in a meeting held to discuss about the arrangements regarding conduct of weeklong HH 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpochey Education Campaign today at DC conference hall.
After a detailed discussion, CEC Dr Dawa thanking the house for the valuable suggestions stressed on the need to conduct sort analysis by forming a sort analysis committee to sort out the exact root of the problems of schools; to deal with the problems and issues of different schools on individual school level; each Councillor to adopt one school with low performance to work towards resolving its problems; the sort out committee will sort out the problems which will then be made effort to resolve in the next year; discouraging the attachment policy since the initial days of formation of this council will make efforts to resolve any pending issue; requested the parents, Councillors, and the stakeholders to equally contribute to figure out problems and suggest solutions; to prepare a yearlong programme for observing 100 years of Bakula Rinpoche next year; expressed the urgent need to activate the Zonal Gender Co-ordinator who conducts surveys to find out numbers of school drop-outs and out of school children in the community or village.
In the end, CEC also expressed gratitude to all the religious heads and the NGOs for their all time support for Education Department and appreciated the education fraternity for doing their duty so well despite so many hardships. Though the education fraternity has always given their best but there is always a room for improvement which will be instrumental in shaping the future of Ladakh, added Dr. Dawa.
HQ Assistant Chief Education Office Leh Sonam Dorjey thanking all the Councillors for their support by providing funds through CCDF to the education department which has helped in retaining of roll, also talked about the effective introduction of Pre-primary (PP) and residential policy which other parts of the state are eager to replicate; and improvement in pass percentage from 22% to 72%.
Talking about the recent participation in the State Level Competition under KLA UTSAV at Jammu on the 25th and 26th of October, 2016, Dorjey said that the participants in the Dance Group and Visual Arts Group bagged 1st position in both the competitions and are selected for the National Level Competition to be held in New Delhi soon. The house roared in appreciation on the success of the groups.
Earlier, ECs, Councillors, religious heads, members of NGOs, officers and officials of Education Department participated in constructive discussion in which the problem of enrolment in Government schools highlighted the most; pointed out on issues & problems; and also gave valuable suggestions.
