Siachen Brigade holds a medical and veterinary camp at Staksha
doctors examine local populace and their livestock




Staksha (Nubra), October 24, (Scoop News)-A Medical and Veterinary Camp was conducted by Siachen Brigade at village Staksha in Shyok valley on Monday.

The aim of the camp was to benefit the local population by providing quality medical assistance by doctors from Army and screening the individuals with severe and chronic disease requiring advanced or special medical care. The veterinary care for the cattle was provided by veterinary doctor from Army.



The medical camp was very well received by the villagers and was appreciated by one and all. In addition, to medical treatment the villagers were also educated on health related issues, hygienic living habits and issues related to health of their cattle.


A large Number of elderly men, women and children availed the medical treatment provided free of cost as part of ‘Sadbhavana’. An adhoc dispensary was set up for the camp.



This camp was instrumental in carving out a niche for better health efforts to be provided to the local populace of far flung and remote villages like Staksha in Shyok valley.
