Bukhari convenes meeting of district/ sectoral officers of Leh district


Leh,August 26(Scoop News)-Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, J&K, Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari today convened a meeting with all the district/ sectoral officers of Leh district to take first hand report of their problems and to access measures to be facilitated by Revenue Department to keep departmental works going without any hindrances. The meeting was attended by Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperative- Chhering Dorjey, MLA Leh- Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLA Nubre- Deldan Namgial, CEC LAHDC- Dr. Sonam Dawa, Executive Councilors, ADC Leh- Mozes Kunzang and all the district officers.

The Minister ensured to take up the settlement work on top priority for Leh district in the next phase for which he directed ADC, Leh to submit him a list of all those villages and areas that doesn’t have any record all to start with. He also directed ADC to provide him with records of submitted cases of land acquisition and compensation and ensured to dispose the files shortly. As a deterrent to curb land grabbing issues Bukhari made a decision that any land allotment has to be counter signed by Tehsilder to get it approved by Council and instructed to start a grievance cell headed by ADC, Leh and said that the cases should be disposed within 15 days. He also directed ADC to prepare an itinerary to ensure visit to every village periodically within 4 months to take stock of all the developmental activities.

The Minister appreciated the planning system in Ladakh and urged the officers to maintain the basic essence of their work culture with a vision to flourish Ladakh in all aspects of development. He gave full assurance of support to address the problems and concerns of hill council but urged them to follow up the cases at their level.

Jora assured the Minister, “When it comes to matter concerning Ladakh we all rise above politics and we have kept a standard of morality and ethics in our work culture.” He stressed on hill council to firmly assert their authority in keeping a vigil on land grabbing issues. Jora said that outsourcing may not proof viable for land settlement in Ladakh given its huge scattered area and proposed the Minister to engage local staff to undertake settlement works.

Deldan Namgial, MLA Nubra demanded for posting of SDM Nubra and to ensure early execution of settlement in Tyakshi. The Minister ensure to post SDM for Nubra and gave direction to ADC to immediately send required number of people to start settlement and instructed ACR, Leh to take personal responsibility to finish it in 3 months.

CEC, Dr. Dawa raised the issues of clarify liabilities under SDRF, land acquisition by army and airforce, land encroachment by Himachal residents in Serchu area. He urged the Minister to take up these case strongly by state government at centre level and he also requested the minister to fill up all the vacant posts in Revenue department at the earliest possible to ensure efficient working of the department.
