| Independence Day celebration; DDC Poonch discusses arrangements | |  Poonch, July 23(Scoop News)- Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik discussed the arrangements for the Independence Day celebration in a meeting held here today.
The meeting discussed in detail certain important issues including arrangements for security, traffic managements, uninterrupted power and drinking water supply, illumination of important monuments and buildings, sitting arrangements and ground leveling at the sports –the venue for the function.
It was informed that Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), JKAP, CRPF, NCC, besides contingents of various educational institutions would take part in the march past after the hoisting of the National Flag.
Other important issues including cleanliness, installation of temporary toilets, barricading Prize distribution and safe transportation to the venue were also discussed in detail.
Various committees were also constituted to ensure all the arrangements well in time.
Malik stressed upon the officers to put in zealous and coordinated efforts to ensure smooth celebration of the national function. He also stressed upon the officers to immediately start preparation at their own level to make the function successful.
SSP J.S Johar, ACR, ACD,CPO, ARTO, General Manager DIC, Executive Engineers of PWD, PDD, Officers from Army, CRPF, BSF, Chief education officer ,Principals of different Higher secondary schools and several others also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, similar meetings were also held at sub at Mendhar and Surankote under the chairmanship of concerned SDMs.
It was decided that in Mendhar the function will be celebrated at Government Boys Higher Secondary and at Government Boys Hr. Sec. School Surankote.
SDMs stressed upon all the heads of educational institution to ensure huge participation of the students.
