CEC, DC visit SNM Hospital, inspected different OPDs and labour wards


Leh, July 23 (Scoop News)-Responding in a proactive manner CEC, LAHDC Dr. Sonam Dawa along with DC, Leh Prasanna Ramaswamy G today visited SNM Hospital, Leh to look into the matters raised during GCM recently. CMO, Leh Dr.Yangchan Dolma, MS SNM Hospital Phutsog Angchok and other senior staff of SNM were also present during the visit.
CEC directed the boys employed at the parking barricade to deal politely and patiently with the visitors and to let go the patient’s vehicles on priority. It was also decided to collect the parking fee while leaving the premise to avoid traffic congestion near the hospital gate and inconvenience to the patients. CEC inspected different OPDs and labour wards and interacted with some of the patients enquiring about the facilities provided by the hospital. He directed hospital authority to provide free 5 days course of medicine to deserving patients having in written from concern doctor and to maintain dress code for medical staff differentiating their designation. He also directed PHE and Construction officials to address the sewerage issue urgently with some temporary measures.
Addressing the hospital staff Dr. Dawa said that their purpose of visit is to take stock of SNM hospital in terms of its functioning and to learn about the problems of the hospital as well as the staff. He asserted that SNM hospital is the face of entire health sector of Leh district and his intention of frequent visit is to improve the standard, infrastructure and quality of the hospital services. He added that despite holding the portfolio of health sector, being a doctor by profession compels him to toil to ensure quality performance of this sector without any compromise on its service quality. He conveyed to the medical staff about his high expectations from them and urged them to maintain the high held image of our medical fraternity not only in Ladakh but in entire state build by our senior doctors and nurses through their dedicated and compassionate services.
CEC reiterated on the need to work as a team with patient’s satisfaction as their motto and gave assurance of full support from council and administration. In motivating words Dr. Dawa said that there is no doubt on the capability of our medical fraternity but he stressed on upgraded output by being more spirited, punctual, committed, dedicated and to ensure a positive and kind attitude towards patients. “Our medical staffs reflect the intention of the hospital and the hospital image depends entirely on your positive or negative attitude. We seek your suggestions to address the hospital issues and your problems,” asserted CEC.
Followed by the hospital visit CEC and DC went to Jive-Tsal, Shey where they inspected and ensured the arrangements made at His Holiness Photang keeping in view his arrival on July 25, 2016. President LBA and police representative was also present during the visit.
