DAK announces 2016 Appreciation Awards
Awardees will be felicitated on Doctors Day

Srinagar,June 30 (Scoop News)-Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today announced “2016 Appreciation Awards” in recognition and honor of those doctors who have placed themselves at the services of patients.
While congratulating awardees, President DAK Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement said the purpose of these awards is to identify and honor doctors who best demonstrate the ideals of compassionate and respectful care for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
These awards will boast the morale of doctors and will encourage higher levels of performance.
The awardees are Dr Farooq Andrabi Senior Resident SKIMS, Dr Mir Nadeem PG Medicine SMHS, Dr Adil Ashraf Registrar Medicine SMHS, Dr Aftab Akber Registrar SMHS, Dr Suhail Naik Registrar GB Pant, Dr Arshad Hussain Associate Professor Psychiatry, Dr Abdul Rashid Consultant Pediatric Surgery SMHS, Dr Imtiyaz Wani Surgeon Specialist Pattan, Dr Reyaz Daga Physician Specialist Pattan, Dr Mir Iqbal Pathologist Kupwara, Dr Bilal Kenu Medical Officer Kalamchakla Langate, Dr Arif Mir Medical Officer Ashpora Langate, Dr Fayaz Bhat Physician Specialist Anantnag, Dr Javid Qanangoo Dental Surgeon Rainawari and Mir Waseem Physician Specialist Baramulla.
Apart from being competent in their fields, these doctors were chosen for their dedication and commitment to patient care.
They are highly sensitive to psychological well being and emotional concerns of patients.
They display effective, empathetic communication and listening skills.
They engender trust and confidence in patients which is so essential for doctor-patient relationship.
These doctors will be felicitated tomorrow on Doctors day.
On doctors day DAK is holding a free medical camp for Safaikaramcharis at Makhdoom sahib community Hall where free medicines will be provided to them.
They will be screened for hypertension, diabetes, thyroid and lipid disorders besides they will be screened for hepatitis B, C and HIV to which this community is particularly vulnerable in view of their occupation.
