Div Com inaugurates first aid training program
Jammu, May 25 (Scoop News)-Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal today inaugurated a training programme for first medical responders organized by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), at Red Cross Bhawan Jammu.
Officers and field functionaries from department of Health, Social Welfare and Transport, drivers of commercial vehicles and volunteers of IRCS are taking part in this training course at Jammu, which would culminate on May 28, 2016.
While addressing the gathering, the Divisional Commissioner said that the aim of the training programme is to create a force of well trained volunteers in border areas and accident prone areas so that precious lives are saved by providing first aid. He said that the course would also prove beneficial for drivers of commercial and passenger vehicles and Regional Transport Office must ensure that each commercial vehicle is equipped with first aid kits.
He appreciated the efforts of volunteers of IRCS, Jammu who render selfless services for providing first aid to victims of natural disasters, floods and accidents in the state.
The first aid training course would be conducted by IRCS in five accident prone districts of the state including Jammu, Doda, Ramban, Rajouri and Reasi.
Honorary Secretary IRCS, Jammu RC Puri was also present on the occasion.
