PDP committed to address all issues of KPs: Madni

Jammu, May 25 (Scoop News)-Former Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and General Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sartaj Madni today said that PDP is committed to address all issues of the Kashmiri Pandits (KPs). He said that PDP, being a real representative voice of the people, has formulated its policies and programmes by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all religious and ethnic groups of Jammu and Kashmir to ensure inclusive growth and equal development.
“With the support of all sections of the society, PDP is pursuing its inclusive agenda of peace, progress, communal harmony, brotherhood and equal development”, Mr Madni said while interaction with group of Kashmiri Pandits, who met him at PDP office this afternoon. A group of Kashmiri Pandits led by M K Bambroo, president Anantnag-Narbal Parbhandak Committee met Mr Madni to discuss problems being faced by the community.
Reminding the delegation about steps taken by the former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to solve problems of the KPs, Mr Madni said PDP is following vision of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who had pioneered and implemented agenda of equal growth and equal opportunities for all sections of the society.
“PDP government under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti has already started the process of transformation to change destiny of the people of this State”, he said, adding, “Support of every section of the society is must to establish a new system in the State”.
“We are working to fulfill dreams of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, whose ultimate goal was to change destiny of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and to establish a system where justice will be given to all sections of the society”, he said and exhorted Kashmiri Pandit community to become instrumental in the process of transformation.
He said PDP is committed to safeguard the distinctive cultural, social and religious identity of the minorities including Kashmiri Pandits. He ensured that process will be initiated to restore the composite diverse society of Kashmir into which Kashmiri Pandits will be a natural and welcome fit. He hoped that displaced community will return to their native place with honor and dignity and assured that PDP led coalition government will create favourable conditions for reconciliation and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit community.
Calling upon all political parties and other groups rise above political considerations to solve human issues of displaced community, Mr Madni said, “Political parties must evolve a consensus on solving problems of the Kashmiri Pandits” He also assured the community that PDP would work towards their holistic welfare.
Prominent leaders of PDP namely Ramesh Koul, Jatindra Bhat and Sunil Bhat were also present during discussions. V K Wantoo, general secretary of the Parbandhak Committee, P L Goja, C J Bhan, C L Dadroo, C J Gojai, J K Bhat, advocate, S L Koul, Bansi Tikoo, D K Jar, G L Kanth and other members of the Committee were also present.
Parbandhak Committee members recalled contribution of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in developing religious places of the Kashmiri Pandits.
