| Dorje inaugurates a District Office of JAKFED at Leh | | 
Leh,May 01 (Scoop News)- The Minister for Cooperative Chering Dorje inaugurated a District Office of Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Supply & Marketing Federation Ltd (JAKFED) at Leh today. Among others who were present on the occasion include Managing Director JAKFED Bilal Ahemed Bhat, Senior Manager JAKFED Anil Gupta, Tehsildar, Leh and Deputy Registrar Cooperative, Leh Sonam Norboo.
The Minister said that JAKFED is a cooperative & marketing federation Ltd and carrying out many activities in J&K state like organic fertilizer, Hardware, Bitumen etc. The JAKFED in the first instant will facilitate construction Key materials like cement, sariya, timber etc on DG& DGS rate to Government as well as private agencies and the general public of Ladakh which would be very beneficial for the people of Ladakh and all the employees of JAKFED will be local qualified unemployed youths. He said that in long terms the JAKFED will also start other activities in Leh.
The Minister directed the Managing Director JAKFED to start the construction works of go-down and ensure early stocking of materials and also suggested to appoint a revolving manager for Leh office. He also directed the Tehsildar, Leh to complete the under process land allotment case for principal go-down at Phyang and sub-go-down at Nubra, Nyoma and Tangtse at the earliest.
Managing Director JAKFED informed that JAKFED will also facilitate other consumable materials like cattle feed, iodized salt as per the specification of Ladakh. He said that organic fertilizer would also be provided after obtaining the test from SKUAST, Agriculture and Horticulture departments. He said that awareness camp and capacity building will be made through JAKFED in different area on potential basis for various trades and products. Besides these, stocking and distribution of LPG in left out Nomadic areas would be carried out under public distribution system after taking the issue with the oil companies.
The Managing Director also informed that the principal Go-down would be at Phyang and sub-go-down at T-Mode Nubra, Tangtse and Nyoma for stocking of all building construction key materials like Cement, Sariya, Bitumen, timber etc.
