| RRB at Talwara holds a series of volleyball games to identify sporting talent at village level | | six teams participate in week long tournament. |
Talwara, April 15, (Scoop News)-The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Talwara under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Uniform Force Headquarters, Reasi conducted a series of volleyball tournament for the local youth of villages Chaladh, Kunalagala, Talwara, Chakal Salta, Shikari and Barakh with an endeavour to identify sporting talent at village level.
Six teams from adjoining villages participated in the week long tournament. The aim of the tournament was to attract the youth towards the spirit of the game, create a healthy outlet for youthful energy and foster friendship and harmony amongst the locals.
The competitive spirit, zeal and enthusiasm of the players to clinch title for their village poured onto the ground with spectators cheering for their teams. Experienced players in the region gave their coaching tips to enhance their skills in the sport.
The conduct of volleyball matches under project Sadbhavana received an overwhelming response from the locals. The Army has assured continued support on such goodwill project. The conduct of such rural sports event would strengthen the adventurous streak amongst the youth of the region.
The local populace thanked the Army authorities and village sport development bodies for conduct of the tournament and giving the youth an opportunity to showcase their talent.
