Agarwal felicitates students, says tour would strengthen sense of patriotism
Jammu, February 08 (Scoop News)- A group of 80 students from Jammu and Kashmir was received by Additional Director General of Police, (ADGP) Trainings PHQ Navin Agarwal at PHQ lawns here this morning on their return from 10-day tour “Apna Watan Jano”. The tour was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under its Civic Action Programme and was flagged off from Jammu on 29th January.
Agarwal, welcoming the students said that the tour was aimed to connect the students with the heritage and culture of the country. He said such tours also connect the youth with the cultural diversity of the Nation and strengthens sense of patriotism among them.
ADGP disclosed that the students during their tour visited different historical places and educational institutions in north India, and interacted with various intellectuals. In Simla they visited Kufri Zoo, Green Valley, High Court Complex. They had an interaction with the Judges and senior judiciary officers there. They visited Chandigarh and interacted with the City Mayor. They also visited Science City and Lovely Professional University Jallandhur , besides Golden Temple, Jullian Walla Bagh, Wagah Border in Amritsar, Red Fort, Jamia Masjid, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Humayoon Tomb, Lotus Temple and North & South Block in Delhi. On their return the students were also facilitated tour of Jammu city, ADGP added.
Aggarwal advised the students to use the experiences and knowledge they gained during their tour in future. He said that such tours acquaint the youth of far-flung areas with the latest developments in various fields and shape their career with better prospects.
Among others, the function was attended by IGP Armed Jammu, Yoginder Koul, DIG Armed, Alok Kumar, AIsGP, Dr. Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mahmood, Tahir Sajad, Kulbir Singh and S. Zulfkar Azad, Commandants of Armed/IRP Bns. Sr.ADO (PHQ), BA Shah and other police officers.
